The Master of Agribusiness Management (MMA) Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, organized a matriculation program for new students of Cohort 52 as an initial step in preparing them for graduate study. Held in early February 2026, the program was designed to provide a common academic foundation for students coming from diverse educational backgrounds, so that they could begin their coursework with a more equal level of understanding.

On the first day, the program began with an introduction to the study program delivered by the Head of MMA, Dr. Ir. Lestari Rahayu Waluyati, M.P. This session served as an important starting point for students to understand the learning system, curriculum structure, and academic direction of MMA UGM.

Throughout the program, students received a range of basic materials that form the foundation of agribusiness management studies, including:

  • Introduction to Microeconomics
  • Fundamentals of Accounting
  • Fundamentals of Financial Management
  • Fundamentals of Production Management
  • Fundamentals of Marketing Management
  • Quantitative Analysis (Statistics and Mathematics)
  • Fundamentals of Agribusiness Management

These materials were delivered by experienced lecturers from the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, who provided both conceptual reinforcement and practical insight. The matriculation program was conducted intensively from morning to afternoon, with sessions arranged systematically to ensure that all participants could follow the material well. Through this program, students not only gained essential foundational knowledge, but also began adapting to the pace of graduate-level study. The early interaction between students and lecturers also became an important starting point in building a supportive learning environment.

Beyond that, the matriculation program also aligns with efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by providing inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for students from varied academic backgrounds. In addition, the program supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by preparing competent human resources who are ready to contribute to the agribusiness sector.

The active engagement between lecturers and students throughout this early learning process also reflects the spirit of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, where collaboration within the academic environment serves as an important foundation for creating a sustainable education system.
