The Master of Agribusiness Management Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (MMA UGM) is organized based on the Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 208/DIKTI/Kep./1999 dated May 6, 1999 and accredited “A”.
The increasing challenges of globalization have made the orientation of agricultural development change from production-based agricultural development to agribusiness-based. Facing this change in orientation, professionals in the field of agribusiness management are needed who are able to manage increasingly complex agricultural activities.
MMA UGM has a special characteristic, namely offering a Master Study Program that not only uses economic and management approaches in the field of agribusiness in general, but is equipped with supporting courses related to management in agriculture (agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, plantation and forestry), cultivation and processing of agricultural products.
The number of professionals in the field of agribusiness is currently very limited because there are not many educational institutions capable of producing these professionals. So, the existence of MMA UGM is very relevant.
This program is in line with the Statute of Universitas Gadjah Mada and the Strategic Plan of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM which in principle will develop skilled and qualified Indonesian human resources in accordance with the demands of the times and the needs of society.
