Master of Agribusiness Management (MMA UGM) on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 invited Mr. Langgeng Wisnu A., S.P., M.Sc., Head of Internal Supervision Unit of Perum BULOG as a guest speaker in a Guest Lecture with the theme of Maintaining Food Security Through Government Food Reserves. The activity was aimed specifically at Master of Agribusiness Management students batch 45, 46, 47, 48, and 49. This activity took place offline at the MMA Auditorium. The activity began with the opening by the Head of the Department of Agricultural Social Economics, Dr. Jangkung Handoyo Mulyo, M.Ec.
Mr. Langgeng Wisnu A., S.P., M.Sc. as a resource person provided material carried out by Bulog to maintain food security. The material began with the presentation of material related to the challenges of sustainable national food supply. The main problems in food include the producer side, the distribution side, and the consumer side. In addition, there are inequalities, market mechanisms, and government intervention. The ultimate goal that Bulog wants to achieve for food security is availability, affordability and stability. Mr. Langgeng Wisnu A., S.P., M.Sc. also said that Bulog has a duty in the availability, affordability, and stability of Indonesian food. In the regulation and Bulog’s position in food policy, Bulog is under the president, technical ministry, finance ministry, and national food agency as the regulator. Bulog’s role in the food supply chain begins with the farmer partner program and other programs as upstream, then stock holding management, and downstream as management in food security.
Bulog’s role in the national food supply chain is to ensure the availability and stabilization of supplies and prices upstream, ensure availability in various regions and reduce price disparities, and stabilize supplies and prices downstream. Mr. Langgeng Wisnu A., S.P., M.Sc. conveyed the management of government food reserves (CPP) consisting of optimization and development of food commodity management facilities, implementation of on farm programs, development of other foods in the context of food diversification and downstream, distribution of warehouse construction in all regions of Indonesia, equitable distribution of food stocks throughout Indonesia. The distribution of CPP is carried out by implementing food assistance programs.
