Entering the digital era and increasingly complex global challenges, the need for adequate skills and insights to start and manage a business is becoming increasingly important. Responding to this need, Ramadhan di Kampus UGM (RDK UGM) in collaboration with Master of Agribusiness Management (MMA) UGM is proud to organise a workshop entitled “Journey to Businessman: Workshop for Successful Muslim Entrepreneurs” on 15-17 March 2024 in Yogyakarta. The three-day workshop features leading speakers in their fields, providing in-depth insights on systems, organisation, communication, and motivation that are crucial in building and managing a business.
Day One
The workshop opened with a talk by Ajian Kamadeva, an experienced StartUp Enthusiast. Ajian Kamadeva discussed the importance of systems and organisation in StartUp, emphasised the critical role of teamwork, and introduced the four basic human traits that are crucial in building an effective team. In the practical session, participants were invited to design a BMC (Business Model Canvas) for a StartUp or business.
Day Two
Prof. Dr. M. Suyanto, M.M., Rector of AMIKOM University Yogyakarta 2021-2025, was the guest speaker on the second day. The material presented covered human capital development by highlighting the steps to achieve success as an entrepreneur. Through SMART IN, participants were invited to hone a positive mental attitude, realise dreams with concrete steps, and accept failure as part of the learning process. Prof Suyanto also provided insight into the vast economic potential, especially in creative industries such as photography and videography.
Day Three
Dr. Aqua Dwipayana, M.I.Kom., a Communication Expert and National Motivator, was the guest speaker on the third day with a discussion on building a strong mentality and network as an entrepreneur. The workshop concluded with an open discussion session between speakers and participants, allowing for a valuable exchange of ideas and experiences.
The event was a significant first step for aspiring Muslim entrepreneurs to succeed in the ever-evolving business world.
