Educational Implementation Regulations

A. GENERAL PROVISIONS

    1. Master’s education is education directed at obtaining the academic degree of Master (S-2).
    2. The Master of Agribusiness Management Study Programme is one of the professionally oriented master’s education, which is to produce professionals in the field of agribusiness.

B. SYSTEM AND COMPLETENESS

    1. The pattern of education (MMA-UGM) is carried out with the obligation to attend lectures and examinations held by the Management of Master of Agribusiness Management, before being allowed to conduct research to compile a thesis or case study.
    2. The curriculum for MMA-UGM education including its implementation is determined by the Management of Master of Agribusiness Management.
    3. The Master of Agribusiness Management Education Institute is managed by a board consisting of a chairman and several members of administrative staff.

C. ADMISSION OF STUDENTS

Student admissions are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations at Gadjah Mada University under the coordination of the UGM Directorate of Education and Teaching. Student admission is carried out through a new student admission selection system by considering 3 (three) criteria, namely:

  • Academic Achievement as measured by the score of Achievement Index of prospective students in the previous education programme (S-1).
  • Academic Potential as measured by the valid Academic Potential Test score.
  • English Language Proficiency as measured by valid English test scores.
  1. Registration Requirements
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree from any field of science, and have a GPA with the following conditions:
    • ≥ 2.50 on a scale of 4, for S-1 graduates of study programmes with ‘A’ accreditation
    • ≥ 2.75 on a scale of 4, for undergraduate graduates of study programmes with ‘B’ accreditation
    • ≥ 3.00 on a scale of 4, for graduates of S-1 study programmes with ‘C’ accreditation
  • Have a TPA BAPPENAS or PAPs UGM Certificate with a minimum score of 450 and still valid (max. 2 years after the certificate is issued).
  • Have a valid English Proficiency Certificate (max. 2 years after the certificate is issued) from an institution recognised by UGM, with the following provisions:
    • Academic English Proficiency Test (AcEPT) from UGM (min. score 149)
    • IELTS from an institution recognised by IDP (min. score 4.0)
    • IBT TOEFL from an institution recognised by IIEF (min. score 31)
    • ITP TOEFL from an institution recognised by IIEF (min. score 400)

  1. Registration Schedule
  • Autumn Term: April – July
  • Even Semester : October – January
    (time may change according to the announcement from the Directorate of Education and Teaching UGM)
  1. Pendaftaran sebagai mahasiswa

New Students must have re-registered by completing all requirements at the specified time.

Old students are required to re-register (Heregistrasi) every semester at the most in accordance with the predetermined time.

D. EDUCATION PROCESS

  1. Academic Calendar

Lectures and other academic activities for the Odd Force start from August to January, while the Even Force starts from February to July.

  1. Academic and Thesis Guidance

Each student in the educational process at MMA-UGM will be guided by an Academic Supervisor. Thesis supervisors for students are determined by the MMA-UGM Manager. Thesis supervisor consists of 2 (two) supervisors, namely as the main supervisor and co-supervisor. As a consideration, students may propose 2 (two) names of prospective main and accompanying supervisors.

  1. Study Load

In accordance with the Rector’s Regulation Number 11 of 2016, the study load in pursuing education in the Master / S-2 Programme (MMA-UGM) is 40-50 credits, plus the obligation to make a publication manuscript in a scientific journal.

  1. Lectures
  • Attendance

Every lecture activity, students are required to sign the attendance list which is approved by the lecturer. The guideline for students to be able to take the exam is that they attend at least 75% of the lectures given.

  • Study Result Card

KHS is a collection card of courses that have been taken by students along with the grades obtained.

  1. Widyakarya

The number of credits of widyakarya is 1 credit.

  1. Class Seminars

The number of credits of class seminars is 1 credit

  1. Thesis

Thesis is a student research report that applies scientific methods as a requirement to obtain a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree. The thesis aims to make students understand more deeply the problems faced in the field of agribusiness, be able to formulate problems systematically and conceptualise solutions using scientific methods. This activity is a final project that is accounted for by writing a thesis and ending with a thesis examination.

The number of credits for research and thesis writing is 8-12 credits.

  1. Evaluation and Assessment

Evaluation of the learning process at MMA-UGM is carried out through:

  1. Semester Examination (Mid Semester and Final Semester Examination)
  2. Presentation of Thesis Research Proposal
  3. Comprehensive Examination
  4. Presentation of Thesis Research Results
  5. Thesis Examination

Evaluation of study results is carried out through written insertion and final examinations for each course and oral comprehensive examinations for case study reports.

a. Examination, the results of the examination are graded with letters A, A-, A/B, B+, B, B-, B/C, C+, C, C-, C/D, D+, D, D-, D/E, E+ and E.

b. Evaluation of success, students whose GPA is less than 2.75 at the end of Semester I are given a written warning. If at the end of Semester II the GPA is less than 3.00 calculated from the best 16 credits (minimum grade C), students are declared unable to follow the MMA programme and are not allowed to continue their studies. The final GPA (calculated from course and thesis examination scores) which is less than 3.00 is notified by the manager to the student concerned to be corrected.

c. Graduation predicate, students who are declared to have passed the MMA programme receive a graduation predicate if they have the following GPA:

  • 33.76 : Cumlaude (graduation predicate with honours) maximum study period of 5 semesters
  • 3.51 – 3.75: Very Satisfactory (high graduation predicate)
  • ≤ 3.50 : Satisfactory (medium graduation predicate)
  1. Duration of Study

The length of study in completing education at MMA-UGM is a minimum of 2 (two) semesters and a maximum of 6 (six) semesters calculated from being registered as a student until graduation.

  1. Academic Leave

If legally not registered as a student, then the period during which the student is not registered is not taken into account. Temporary termination of studies due to academic action / punishment, the time of action / punishment is taken into account.
Academic regulations in the Master of Agribusiness Management Study Programme, refer to and follow the applicable regulations within the University of Gadjah Mada (University of Gadjah Mada Rector Regulation Number 11 of 2016, concerning Postgraduate Education).
