A. GENERAL PROVISIONS
- A Master’s program is an academic program leading to the Master’s degree (S-2).
- The Master of Agribusiness Management Program is a professionally oriented graduate program designed to develop competent professionals in the field of agribusiness.
B. SYSTEM AND STRUCTURE
- The Master of Agribusiness Management (MMA-UGM) implements a learning system that requires students to complete all courses and examinations organized by the Program Management before being permitted to conduct research for their thesis or case study.
- The curriculum and its implementation are determined by the MMA-UGM Program Management.
- The program is administered by a management board consisting of a chairperson and several administrative staff members.
C. STUDENT ADMISSION
Student admission follows the regulations of Universitas Gadjah Mada under the coordination of the Directorate of Education and Teaching. Admission is conducted through a selection system that considers three criteria:
- Academic Achievement, measured by the Grade Point Average (GPA) from the previous undergraduate program (S-1).
- Academic Potential, measured by the valid Academic Potential Test score.
- English Proficiency, measured by a valid English test scores.
1. Admission Requirements
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any field and meet the following GPA requirements:
- ≥ 2.50 on a on a 4.00 scale for graduates from programs accredited “A”.
- ≥ 2.75 on a on a 4.00 scale for graduates from programs accredited “B”.
- ≥ 3.00 on a 4.00 scale for graduates from programs accredited “C”.
- Applicants must have a valid BAPPENAS TPA or PAPs UGM certificate with a minimum score of 450 (valid for up to 2 years from issuance).
- Applicants must also provide a valid English proficiency certificate (valid for up to 2 years) from an institution recognized by UGM, with the following minimum scores:
- Academic English Proficiency Test (AcEPT) UGM: 149.
- IELTS (IDP recognized): 4.0.
- IBT TOEFL (IIEF recognized): 31.
- ITP TOEFL (IIEF recognized): 400.

2. Admission Schedule
- Odd Semester Cohort: April – July
- Even Semester Cohort: October – January
(The schedule may change according to announcements from the Directorate of Education and Teaching).
3. Pendaftaran sebagai mahasiswa
New Students must complete the Re-Registration process by submitting all required documents within the designated period.
Returning students must re-register each semester according to the schedule set by the University.
D. ACADEMIC PROCESS
1. Academic Calendar
Academic activities for the Odd Semester Cohort run from August to January, while the Even Semester Cohort runs from February to July.
2. Academic and Thesis Guidance
Each student is assigned an Academic Advisor. Thesis supervisors are appointed by the Program Management and consist of two faculty members: a main supervisor and a co-supervisor. Students may propose two names as suggestions for potential supervisors.
3. Study Load
According to Rector’s Regulation No. 11/2016, the study load for the Master’s Program (MMA-UGM) is 40–50 credits, plus a mandatory scientific publication in an academic journal..
4. Lectures
- Attendance List
Students must sign the attendance list for each class session, verified by the lecturer. A minimum of 75% attendance is required to be eligible for examinations.
- Academic Transcript (KHS)
The KHS records all courses taken and the grades obtained.
5. Widyakarya
The Widyakarya component carries 2 credits.
6. Class Seminar
The Class Seminar carries 2 credits.
7. Thesis
The thesis is a scientific research report required to obtain the Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. It enables students to understand agribusiness issues more deeply, formulate problems systematically, and develop scientific solutions. This final requirement concludes with a thesis examination.
The research and thesis component carries 20 credits.
8. Evaluation and Assessment
Student performance is evaluated through:
- Semester Examinations (Midterm and Final Semester)
- Thesis Proposal Presentation
- Comprehensive Examination
- Thesis Research Presentation
- Thesis Defense
Course assessments are conducted through written exams and a comprehensive oral examination.
a. Grading Scale
Grades are assigned as A, A-, A/B, B+, B, B-, B/C, C+, C, C-, C/D, D+, D, D-, D/E, E+, and E, with corresponding score ranges (0–100) as listed in the original table.

b. Academic Standing
- Students with a GPA below 2.75 at the end of Semester I receive a written warning.

Students with a GPA below 3.00 at the end of Semester II (based on the best 16 credits, minimum grade C) are dismissed from the program.

A final GPA below 3.00 (including coursework and thesis) must be improved as instructed by the Program Management.
c. Graduation Predicate
- ≥ 3.76 : Cumlaude (graduation predicate with honours) maximum study period 5 semesters
- 3.51 – 3.75: Very Satisfactory (high graduation predicate)
- ≤ 3.50 : Satisfactory (medium graduation predicate)
9. Duration of Study
The length of study in completing education at MMA-UGM is a minimum of 2 (two) semesters and a maximum of 6 (six) semesters calculated from being registered as a student until graduation.
10. Academic Leave
Authorized academic leave is not counted toward the study period. However, suspension due to academic sanctions is included in the calculation of study duration.
All academic regulations of the Master of Agribusiness Management Program follow the policies of Universitas Gadjah Mada, particularly Rector’s Regulation No. 11/2016 on Graduate Education.
