Master in Agribusiness Management Study Program, Department of Agricultural Socio-economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MMA UGM) seeks to educate students to uphold the values of honesty, openness and concern for the interests of society. This is reflected in the learning process in various lectures, discussions, seminars, widyakarya and thesis research activities, as well as in program management which is characterized by transparency, openness and concern for the interests of students and stakeholders.
Initially, the Department of Agricultural Socio-economics had undergraduate study programs in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness and Agricultural Extension and Communication (PKP). Given the development of the national agricultural sector towards an agribusiness-based agricultural system and supported by adequate human resources, it was felt very necessary to immediately develop an Agribusiness Management Study Program separate from the UGM Agricultural Economics Study Program at the S-2 level. Thus the Department has two S-2 Study Programs, namely the Master of Agricultural Economics Study Program and the Master in Agribusiness Management. This MMA UGM has been organized since the 1999/2000 academic year.
Master in Agribusiness Management Study Program, Department of Agricultural Socio-economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MMA UGM) is implemented based on the Letter of the Directorate General of Higher Education Institution of the Department of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 208/DIKTI/Kep/1999 dated 6 May 1999 with “A” level accreditation as stipulated inn the Decree of the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education Number: 084/BAN-PT/S2/XII/2004 dated December 21, 2004.
