In 2025, Master in Agribusiness Management (MMA) conducts community service in Sidoluhur Subdistrict, Godean District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The topic of this year’s community service is Reinforcement of Governance of Merah-Putih Village Cooperative. The first agenda of the community service was held on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025. The speaker of this event was Prof. Dr. Jamhari, S.P., M.P. He is a lecturer and an expert in cooperative field. Subdistrict’s representative, cooperative’s administrator has joined this event.
Speaker explained material entitled “Reinforcement of Governance of Merah-Putih Village Cooperative”. He started his speech by explaining history of cooperative establishment. He said that cooperative should provide everything the members need. He explained sharia system in cooperative. According to such system, cooperative looks for partner who have business(es). If a member needs, cooperative will provide it in goods, not in cash.
Cooperative has to has active members and should map businesses around the subdistrict that are needed by the members. It should be done before starting cooperative’s business. The village cooperative can conduct collaboration with larger cooperative. Cooperative should attract people to join the cooperative and ask the costumer if they need anything to be provided by cooperative. Cooperative has to conduct meeting once for every 1 until 3 months.
